Scary video footage emerged this week after a flight traveling from Perth, Australia, to Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, on Sunday morning had a close call with what officials believe to be engine failure.
About 75 minutes into the six-hour flight, the planecarrying 350 passengersexperienced a loud bang, followed by an incessant shaking described by travelers as that of a washing machine.
The horrific shaking lasted two hoursthroughout which the pilot, who has more than 44 years of experience, repeatedly asked passengers to pray for their survival.
A harrowing message from the man youve entrusted to get you from point A to point B safely. He expressed his own fears to passengers as well, then asked passengers to keep an eye on the engine through their windows as he did not have a good view from inside the cabin.
Emergency crews in Perth were placed on standby as the plane turned around and made its way back to its origin of departurein case a water landing was required.
Miraculously, the pilot was able to land the plane safely in Perth, where passengers were met by ground staff and provided whatever assistance necessary.
Engineers are still investigating the cause of the supposed engine seizure, but ensure they are taking precautionary steps to check the aircraft in its entirety.
